UPVC Doors & WindowsUpvc doors and window have become a very common on houses in the last few years and these are mostly fitted with Multi-point locking mechanisms. These can be handle or key operated with the cylinder locking the mechanism into the door frame. Sometimes problems can occur with these, ranging from broken/faulty cylinders to failed mechanisms which can leave you locked out or with an un-usable door. Our company is able to quote and supply a service to your existing UPVC, Aluminium, Wooden Doors and Windows. We do not replace glass. We undertake the repair or replacement of hinges, multi point locks, cylinders and handles to your old, obsolete or new Double glazed units. Lock UpgradesHere are a few suggestions of how you can achieve this. New Cylinders: I can fit new cylinders to your existing UPVC and aluminium doors, to give you better security on your home. Most doors are supplied with five-pin Euro cylinders, but for a little extra security I can up grade your lock to a six-pin cylinder. One pin may not sound a lot, but within the new six-pin cylinders anti-pick pins have been installed to make the cylinder harder to pick. Alternatively, I can fit your door with keyed alike cylinders. This means that one key can open both your front and rear doors. If you have timber doors, they can be fitted with new night latches which conform to the new British Standard requirements (BS3621:2004) which are also insurance approved. Alternatively another option is a new six-pin rim cylinder, (just the outer lock). These have the anti-pick pins built into the cylinders which can be installed independently leaving the original internal latch untouched and therefore less cost. Mortice Locks: The best for timber doors, are sash locks and dead locks (sash locks have handles, and dead locks have just the key way). Five lever locks are fitted with a choice of non British Standard or, for a little extra, an insurance approved lock made to the British Standard (BS3621:2004). Again, these locks can be keyed alike, so you can use the same key for both front and back doors. Commercial Locksmith ServicesWe can offer a good service to our commercial clients.
